The artist’s book  explores the transformative expression of love and growth. Inspired by seeing my friend who is a mother of a 2 years old daughter, I am deeply interested in relationships between a mother and a baby. Throughout 12 pages, each page’s text represents each month of her journey as a new mother. It includes her honest thoughts that are pulled from her diary which creates intimate and fresh feelings from nurturing a baby. The simple languages allow you to explore your own familiar duration of 12 months with someone or something. Kozo fiber across each page expresses the heart-to-heart connection between her and her baby like a placenta. The stiff leaf binding structure leads the audience to flip page by page and shows the layers of the Kozo fiber of gain and loss that question growth and love.
